Delete your account or your data
These are two different things, and you can do either one. Closing your account ends the service; clearing your activity history leaves the account exactly as it is.
Delete your account
This ends the service on every phone.
In the app
Settings → Danger zone → Delete account
This is the fastest route, and it is available to the account's billing owner.
Sharing an account with another parent and can't see that row? You're not the billing owner — use the email route below and we'll take care of it.
By email — including if you've already uninstalled
Write to support@smalltalkphone.com and ask us to delete your account. Please send it from the email address on the account, so we can be sure the request is yours.
A person reads it, and you'll get a reply confirming when it's done.
What deleting the account does
- The phones are deprovisioned and stop working. They can't call anyone, and nobody can call them.
- Your subscription is cancelled. Your subscription ends with the account, not at the end of the month. You won't be charged again, and the rest of this period isn't refunded.
- Your family's records are deleted — contacts, schedules, activity history and your village. There's no undo and no restore.
What we keep, and why
A few records stay, because we're required to keep them: billing records, your agreement to the terms, and your support conversations for 90 days.
We also keep a note that you were told the Smalltalk phone can't call 911 — the date, and the wording you saw. Not your name, your email or your number. It's evidence the warning was given, and that has to outlast the account it was given in.
Delete activity history, without closing your account
You don't have to close your account to clear what it holds.
In the app
Settings → Danger zone → Delete activity history
This clears the call logs and activity history for one phone at a time. On a family with more than one phone, the row names the child whose phone it is.
You can also delete a single entry from the activity list, without clearing the rest.
What this does not do
It doesn't close your account, cancel your subscription, or stop the phones working. Your contacts, schedules and village are untouched — this is the history only.
What stays
Recent changes stays — it's the record of what the parents did, and nobody can edit it from the app.
