A closed network — approved people only

Every phone gets its own number. Your child calls the Smalltalk numbers you approve — and no one else can reach them.

You get a Smalltalk number too. Your child can dial it from the handset, and you can call them from the app — the same closed network, the same rules.

Closed by default

Only contacts you've approved in the app can call your child or be called. Unknown numbers simply can't get through.

What the closed network means for calling
Your Village

It takes a village. Yours can be anywhere.

Grandparents, aunts, uncles, close friends get their own Smalltalk number your child can dial, and can call the phone back. No hardware to buy, no phone plan.

Being in your village gives someone a number, not a way in. Whether they can reach a particular child is a separate choice you make on that child's contact list, one child at a time.
