For our trial families

Thank you for going first.

You are among the first families to put a Smalltalk phone in your home. Everything you notice — the good and the awkward — shapes what this becomes.

What to expect

We are still polishing the app and the service. Things will be rough in places, and some of them we already know about. If something feels unfinished, you are probably right — and telling us is the most useful thing you can do.

Your child's phone works today. The parts most likely to change are in the app you hold, not the handset they use.

Setting up the phone

The app walks you through it — connecting the handset to your Wi-Fi, naming it, and adding the first contacts. Keep the phone nearby when you start.

Tell us what you find

Anything at all — a word that reads oddly, a step that confused your child, something you wish it did. There is no such thing as too small.

If something is actually broken

Don't use the form above — write to support@smalltalkphone.com and say what is happening. A human in Toronto reads it. You can also use the contact page if you prefer.

About emergency calls

Smalltalk Service runs on a private network and cannot be used to call 911 or other public emergency numbers. Keep a phone that can reach 911 available in your home, and make sure your child knows where it is and how to use it.

After the trial

When the trial ends we will talk to each family individually about carrying on. Nothing changes without us speaking to you first.

Thank you, genuinely. You are helping build something we wanted for our own kids.
